Handmade Style and Custom Crafts Unveiled in NoLita at the

Third Annual Holiday Handmade Cavalcade

The {NewNew}, a collective of local artists, artisans, designers and crafters selling on, shares its handmade artistry at the Third Annual Holiday Handmade Cavalcade, Sunday December 5th, from 11am – 8pm at the Openhouse Gallery at 201 Mulberry Street in NoLita, NYC. 40 designers and makers, all living and crafting in the metropolitan area will take over the space with the perfect gifts: one-of-a-kind handmade clothing, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath and body treasures, toys, and housewares.

“With a turnout of more than 2,000 people each year, the Holiday Handmade Cavalcade is fast becoming a great New York City winter tradition,” says Karin Persan, the event’s coordinator. “For nine hours on Sunday, December 5th, we will transform NoLita’s Openhouse Gallery into a holiday shopping wonderland.  In addition to the high-quality, handmade wares for sale, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in winter-themed crafting demonstrations, interact with our event sponsors, including Starting Artists Inc., Knitty City, Lion Brand Yarn and the Hester Street Fair, and mingle with local artisans in our lounge over delectable treats.  The curious shopper will not want to miss this opportunity to indulge in some of the unique designs locally crafted by this year’s eclectic and talented mix of vendors.”

Admission to this indie shopping event is free. Make sure to arrive early, the first 200 guests will receive a free gift bag filled with wonderful treasures donated by the groups talented makers and event sponsors.  With each purchase at the event, shoppers will automatically be entered in a raffle where five lucky winners will receive tote bags with special items donated by the artists.
